More information about the highly-anticipated The Sims 4: Parenthood Game Pack was revealed in another question and answer session with the folks behind the game.
It's the only Sims 4 Pack that hasn't disappointed me. Honestly, I think you should get it! To have other non played sims, develop the parenthood personality traits. I'd love a mod that assigns said traits to sims without having to cheat them in yourselves. Liliaeth Posts: 1,042 Member. Sims 4 Parenthood: Best Character Traits Ranked From Best To Worst. Electronic Arts and Maxis recently released a gameplay trailer showing how parents can earn parenting skills in The Sims 4 downloadable content (DLC) pack and how these can affect their children.
One of the revelations in the clip was that parents could ground their kids to discipline them in The Sims 4: Parenthood Game Pack. Maxis producer Dave Miotke revealed more information about this feature on the official The Sims forums by releasing a screenshot from the DLC showing the various methods parents can use to ground their kids for a whole day.
They can prohibit them from watching television, listening to music, using their computer, or using the phone. In this The Sims 4 DLC, moms and dads can also discipline their kids by disallowing them from going out of the house, speaking to their friends or using toys and games.
Miotke also mentioned on Twitter that another means of punishment in The Sims 4: Parenthood Game Pack is setting a curfew. However, the new curfew will apply to all the kids in the household.
This suggests that The Sims 4 DLC might not allow players to adjust the curfew for just one of the kids, which means that a change in the curfew will have to be followed by every child in the family.
There is plenty of jumping, climbing, swimming, flying and shooting going on, not to mention some monkey netting. All that really matters is that you will travel to a ton of different locales trying to bag you some monkeys. GameplayAs I mentioned above, Ape Escape is a 3D platform game. It follows the free roaming formula allowing you to feel that you are actually immersed in the game environment.
On the other hand, The Sims game designer Lakshmi Howe also revealed that the Parenthood Game Pack would also allow parents to give their misbehaving kids a time-out as a means of punishment.
With regards to interactions between parents and children in the DLC, the moms and dads can send their kids to bed, but there is one thing they cannot do with regards to that aspect. As Miotke explained, “They won’t carry the kids to bed, but they’ll meet them there and tuck them in properly.”
Miotke also discussed how the traits work in The Sims 4: Parenthood Game Pack. According to him, the Sims could get up to five traits when a child ages up to young adult. He said that they could be all good, all bad, or a mix of both.
In The Sims 4 DLC, teenagers will lose the character values they developed in their formative years when they grow into young adults and will be given permanent traits. What these end up being will be up to how they were raised.
The Character Values in The Sims 4: Parenthood Game Pack include Manners, Responsibility, Conflict Resolution, Empathy and Emotional Control. They are discussed in a brand new blog post about the DLC.
“The Character Values are representations of your young Sims activities. As they perform activities that are positively associated with a Character Value, it’ll increase their positive access. If Sim parents encourage and praise these behaviors, that will also increase it. However, when Sims perform negative activities that are negatively associated with a Character Value, or a parent praises these activities, it has the opposite effect.”
This means that if the kids were not disciplined or taught good manners by their parents in The Sims 4: Parenthood Game Pack when they behave badly during their early years, they will earn negative traits like the Bad Manners Trait, which lead to them refusing to do chores, interact rudely, and the like.
Similarly, mothers and fathers who set their kids on the right path, praise them when they do good deeds, and help them realize and take responsibility when they don’t, the children can grow up with a Good Manners Trait. Players can read all about how all this works on the official The Sims blog.
The Sims 4: Parenthood Game Pack will be released on May 30. Details about how parents can guide their kids in the DLC will be revealed soon.

The Sims 4 Parenthood comes with 11 new traits, most of which you can earn through character values as a Toddler / Child / Teen. Here are all the new traits and what they offer: TraitsArgumentative (From Having Negative Conflict Resolution) – Argumentative Sims don’t always start conversations on the right foot with Sims they don’t like. Successfully apologizing is harder and they do try to assert their correctness more often than not.Socializing is kinda a challenge with this trait and you might not be off to a good start when making a new relationship with a Sim you’ve just met.Bad Manners (From Having Negative Manners) – Sims with Bad Manners can try to be Friendly, but will always fail using certain socials. They will often use gross manners, swear a lot, and never want to do the dishes.Sims with Bad Manners are somehow similar to Sims with the Argumentative trait, except you’ll get funnier results with the Bad Manners trait. Also, you may just want to skip doing the dishes and drag them into the dishwasher / sink yourself.Compassionate (From Having Positive Empathy) – Compassionate Sims can help other Sims relieve their negative emotions. They can also empathize with them by Sharing Emotional Burdens. However, these Sims get stressed when being Mean.
Emotional Control (From Having Positive Emotional Control) – Sims who have the Emotional Control Trait can relieve negative moods by jogging, listening to certain music, blogging on the computer, or playing an instrument. In general, their negative emotions will go away faster than other Sims.Good Manners (From Having Positive Manners) – Sims with Good Manners won’t want to do any gross manners interactions, at least not in front of anyone. They also have a new Polite Introduction and can gain friendly relationships faster. Irresponsible (From Having Negative Responsibility) – Irresponsible Sims are uncomfortable at work, but ignoring bills and slacking off brings them joy.
They may also encounter new situations when at work. You’ll encounter hilarious new career chance cards with this trait, but most of them will result in performance loss.Mediator (From Having Positive Conflict Resolution) – Mediator Sims have a higher chance at successfully apologizing to other Sims and can Mediate the Forums. They can also mend differences with Sims they have not been friendly with for a long time.Responsible (From Having Positive Responsibility) – Responsible Sims perform better at their jobs and can teach children and teens how to be responsible.Teaching sims about responsibility will give huge responsibility character value points to your child / teen sim.Uncontrolled Emotions (From Having Negative Emotional Control) – Sims with Uncontrolled Emotions won’t be able to relieve their negative emotions as fast as other Sims. When they have strong negative emotions, they may have an emotional meltdown.Watch out, with the uncontrolled emotions trait your Sims are more prone to dying from emotional deaths such as death by anger or death by embarrasement.Insensitive (From Having Negative Empathy) – Insensitive Sims are able to Question other Sims’ negative emotions. They can also instigate other Sims. Insensitive Sims will have a higher chance of failing socially when talking to Sims with bad emotions.Role Model (From Completing the Super Parent Aspiration) – Gives bonus Character Value scoring when near Toddlers, Children, or Teens.
