The Broken Sword is a sword appearing exclusively in the SNES installments of the Fire Emblem series. Whenever a sword in any of those games reaches 0 remaining uses, it will become a Broken Sword. A Broken Sword can continue to be wielded, but has low accuracy and might along with high weight.
The Broken Sword can then be repaired by the Hammerne staff in Mystery of the Emblem, at a weapon repair shop in Genealogy of the Holy War, and by the Repair staff in Thracia 776. Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light and all games subsequent to Thracia 776 do not include the Broken Sword, and instead have swords that reach 0 remaining uses simply disappear from the inventory.
