I think this game is the pinnacle of the Clausewitz engine and Paradox gaming.I figure HOI4 will be a streamlined, simplified, idioticized piece of., but would be very happy to be proven wrong. Thanks for your help. They certainly have gone down the immediate, easy to get into, route with EU4. Although I can dip in and out of that game easily I think I like the complexity of Vic 2 more. With EU4 I cant help feel that I am making up my own gameplay as I play the game in that if I am not in combat there is little to do, half of my time goes on trying to stay in control of the papacy which is a pretty dull exercise in futility. The only other thing to do is colonise and control your stability, I still cant understand trade at all.Vic 2 seems more balanced, if you are not in combat there certainly is still a lot to keep you busy, even as a small country - at the moment I am trying (and failing) to play Siam.I suppose all the Paradox games have merit and they are all different in good and bad ways, nice to have the choice of playing some good games anyway.
