Verdun is the first FPS set in an authentic WW1 setting. Merciless trench warfare offers a unique battlefield experience, immersing you and your squad into intense battles of attack and defense. The game takes place on the Western Front between 1914 and 1918, in one of the bloodiest conflicts in world history. The game takes place on the Western Front between 1914 and 1918, in one of the bloodiest conflicts in world history - inspired by the infamous Battle of Verdun in 1916. Verdun is the first multiplayer FPS set in a realistic World War One setting, the game which started the WW1 Game series.
New look and feel
We have enhanced everything in the game, with a brand new user interface, graphical improvements, and a redone audio system. There are tutorial hints, new character models, an extended gore system, newly recorded sounds from authentic WW1 weapons, and new soundscapes for even better battlefield atmosphere.
St. Mihiel Map, and two new squads with new weapons
The new map is set on the fiercely contested St. Mihiel salient, with trenches running between the trees of a shelled out forest. In late 1918, the American Expeditionary Force and French supporting elements fought and defeated the German 5th Army.
The first new squad is the Senegalese Tirailleurs: French colonial troops, armed with distinctive variants of the Berthier rifle and fearsome machetes. They are an assault squad, specialized at breaking the enemy line. The second new squad are the ANZACs: an engineer squad with balanced loadouts allowing them to fight in close quarters or offer fire support at range. Weapon options include the Lewis Gun and the unusual Webley-Fosbery recoil operated automatic revolver.
Play anytime with AI allies and opponents
Up to 24 bots can be part of a Frontlines battle and will join servers! You can even start offline battles and choose which squads you want the AI to use. There are also welcome gameplay adjustments such as bullet penetration, a better deathcam, a reworked spawning system, and an end to frustrating barbed wire deaths – it will now slow and wound you, but not kill you.
At the end of the day if you like pinball games then Quantic Pinball will no doubt provide you with some cheap thrills. Don’t get me wrong it’s not a top pinball game, but for the cheap price it’s definitely value for money. I loved the neon art style and I think it suits the pinball style very well and the accompanying sound design fits with the visuals extremely well. Quantic pinball games. The presentation side of the game ticked a lot of boxes for me.
